Description de la mission

Currently SOCOTEC in France outsource about 7M€ of laboratory testing work to support its core business as it does not have laboratories in France. As SOCOTEC UK has laboratories that with a wide range of technical testing capabilities, the role of the Business Analyst is to investigate whether some or all of this French laboratory testing work could be redirected to SOCOTEC in the UK to keep the margin internal (laboratory testing operates at high margins) and to improve the client proposition by tying the systems together.

Involved into the central team of the subsidiary, based in Bretby (near Birmingham), and reporting to the CEO or a senior expert or team leader, the VIE will have to undertake the following detailed analysis to fully understand:
- The technical requirements of all the testing currently outsourced by SOCOTEC France
- The technical capabilities of the current UK laboratories
- The required timescales from collection of sample to testing report issued to client
- The required service interaction with the client and report requirements
- The feasibility of replicating (or improving) the current service and report requirements
- The current logistics and transportation procedures and requirements of SOCOTEC in France
- The feasibility, costs and associated timescales associated with setting up a logistics and transportation network to collect the samples and ship them to the UK
- The current sample price and costs that is currently charge to SOCOTEC France
- The cost to undertake the tests in the UK
- To compile a detailed feasibility study to analyse the above
If the proposition is feasible then prepare a business case and plan (together with the French and UK managers) to present to the SOCOTEC Management Board.
Any other duty or work reasonably requested by the Employer.

Profil

Qualifications required:
- Master degree (BA or Bac + 4 min) including experience of Business Analysis of complex cross border projects
- Some experience of scientific services may be desirable
- Fluent in English and French
- Ability to interact effectively with technical managers and all employees at all levels in both France and UK
- Excellent analytical skills and financial acumen
- Creative in logistics and transportation
- Excellent communication & presentation skills
- Ability to work on own initiative
Business trip may be required between France and the UK. Driving license is required.
